Summary: Yannis Scarpelos B.Sc. in Sociology, PhD in Communication  Theory, is currently Assistant Professor/Senior Lecturer at the  Department of Communication, Media and Culture, at Panteion  University, Athens, Greece, teaching Visual Culture. He is also  teaching Visual Culture at the MA courses on Cultural Management, and  Media Psychology at Panteion University. He is Co-ordinator of the  Cultural Management postgraduate course at the Hellenic Open  University. Yannis Scarpelos is a member of the International Visual  Sociology Association (and member of its Board 2000-2004), of the  Hellenic Semiotic Society, of the Editorial Board of the journals  Visual Studies (2002-2005) and Visual Communication Quarterly (2005- ).
